Portland is the duo of Jente Pironet and Nina Kortekaas, who replaced Sarah Pepels since 2023. Years after Jente set up the project, whose name is a tribute to Elliot Smith, he met Sarah and knew she was his musical soulmate. From then on, the throttle was firmly pressed, with participations in Humo’s Rock Rally and De Nieuwe Lichting of Studio Brussel. Not much later, they were allowed to cross the festivals Rock Werchter and Pukkelpop off their bucket list, among others. Meanwhile, Portland keeps on rocking and their fans can’t seem to get enough of their folk-influenced indie; you can hear them on December 10 in Muziekgieterij.
