Heaven Sessions

The Belgian formation DIRK. dove into the Muziekgieterij studio in Maastricht at the end of March for a Heaven Session. At that time, their album ‘Idiot Paradise’ had just been in record stores for a few weeks, so the band only played new work. “Punishment from throat to buttock,” weekly Humo wrote about Idiot Paradise. The same certainly applies to their Heaven Session.

After the session, singer and bassist Jelle Denturck and Heaven Magazine editor Ludo Diels immediately went into depth. They talked about the existential crisis of our society, the lessons we can learn from the stoics and about playing as support act dEUS. And about how to break through internationally with the name DIRK: “That may not have been the smartest move in terms of marketing.”
