Merce Lemon

As the sun slowly began to set over the BKS grounds, Merce Lemon climbed our stage. Lemon’s songs are sometimes spare and thoughtful. Other times she charms us under avalanches of guitar violence. Reflections from her life, excerpts from poetry and literature and crows are her inspiration.

She recorded her latest album – Watch Me Drive Them Dogs Wild – with her current band. The songs on the record first had to mature live, she tells Ludo Diels (Heaven Magazine) after the session. ‘I like to live in a song, before I record it. To know what identity it has.’
