Muziekgieterij Productiehuis: Playground

Muziekgieterij has been awarded a multi-year grant from the Performing Arts Fund under the Podium Arrangement. This is an important step in the further professionalization of the Maastricht pop venue and a recognition of the role Muziekgieterij plays in the development of new musical talent and co-productions.

Talent Development

The amount awarded allows Muziekgieterij to further expand its production contribution and lay a solid foundation for the future. The Performing Arts Fund thereby recognizes the stage’s efforts in the entire value chain of music production: from local talent to established artists, and from collaboration across national borders to innovative stage productions.

Good rating

The assessment of the artistic position of the Maastricht stage was an ample sufficient and thus received a high rating. With the diverse program and ambitions for the coming years, the committee was convinced that Muziekgieterij has set a good artistic course. Based on this, Muziekgieterij would be eligible for a programming contribution, but this was not awarded because the total budget for these contributions was not sufficient.

Incubator

“This grant confirms our commitment to being not only a place where music is programmed, but also an incubator where talent can develop and new productions can be created,” said the Muziekgieterij board of directors. “We are immensely proud that our vision for talent development and production has been appreciated, and we look forward to further shaping these ambitions.” Muziekgieterij remains committed to a broad and diverse program, in which indie, pop, urban and electronic music feature prominently. With 245 concerts per year and an ambition to reach 118,125 concertgoers per season, the pop venue remains an important cultural player in South Limburg and the Euregion.
