Building a bridge between heritage and pop music

Muziekgieterij together with the Heiligdomsvaart organizes three concerts in OPUS 9 (De Theresiakerk) under the motto: “Be a bridge builder.” The Heiligdomsvaart is a 7-yearly and historical event in Maastricht, originated in the Middle Ages. Muziekgieterij is a stroke younger in its existence but wanted to musically bridge legacy and contemporary pop music.

On the menu are 3 different artists. We kick off on June 19 with a duo show by Spinvis, which sold out within a swear and a sigh (or should we say within one Hail Mary), a day later the Danish band Efterklang fills the church musically with its fabulous indie folk pop with a social message. And we close on June 21 with the successful composer Bryan Raets, who has written hits for the likes of Miss Montreal and Nick & Simon, but under his alias “Memento,” presents a neoclassical work that reveals his own feelings and memories.
